CompTIA Network+ Certification Exam Tutorial: DHCP and DHCP Relay Agents

As a CompTIA Network+ exam candidate, youre probably familiar with DHCP but just in case, were going to review DHCP basics here and then go into a discussion of DHCP Relay Agents.

When it comes to assigning an IP address to all the PCs on our network, along with their network mask, DNS server location, and more, we've got two choices on how to do it:

Go to every workstation and configure the workstation statically
Go to every workstation and configure them all to use DHCP

What we have here is the classic "static vs. dynamic" argument. I don't want you to think I'm lazy, but I'll take the dynamic way of doing things almost every single time.

You may wonder why it matters, since both methods involve visiting each workstation. You're right about that, and even though it's a lot quicker to configure a workstation to get its IP address and mask from a DHCP server than it is to configure the entire IP address and mask statically, the real benefits come in when the network changes.

And take it from me - your network will change. You'll remove hosts, you'll add hosts, and if the previous network manager didn't plan for future growth, the day may come when you've got to change the IP numbering scheme for your network. The choice that was made originally between static configuration and DHCP will then determine how easy the change will be.

If the network was statically configured, you will now have to go to every single workstation and change their IP addressing to the new scheme.

If the network is using DHCP, you simply change the networking scheme on the DHCP server and allow the workstations to get their new addresses dynamically.

Believe me, I've performed IP address changes in both fashions, and I'll take DHCP every time! Avoiding static IP address assignments also cuts down on the chances of two hosts in your network being assigned the same IP address.

When hosts receive an IP address from DHCP, it does not belong to that host permanently. The address is actually leased from a DHCP server. Let's walk through the DHCP process from the host's point of view.

First, the DHCP Client boots up, and sends a DHCP Discover packet onto the network. The host does this in order to "Discover" a DHCP server or servers. This Discover packet is a Level 3 broadcast, which has a destination IP address of 255.255.255.255.

Every DHCP Server that hears this broadcast will respond with a DHCP Offer, and it's an IP address and mask that is being offered. The DHCP Offer also includes a subnet mask, the IP address of the DHCP Server sending the response, and how long the host can keep this address (the DHCP lease duration).

If multiple DHCP Servers happen to hear this broadcast, they will each offer an IP address.

The DHCP Client will accept the first offer it receives. It does so by sending another broadcast, a DHCP Request packet.

The DHCP Server that made the offer that's being accepted will now send a DHCP Acknowledgement, which contains the rest of the information the host needs to function, including the location of a DNS server. The DHCP Server that made the offer that was not accepted will return the offered IP address to its range of assignable addresses, its address pool.

I made several mentions in this section about these DHCP packets being broadcasts. Do you remember which network connectivity device does not forward broadcasts? That's right, it's our old friend, the router!

If a PC is on one side of the router and the DHCP Server is on another side, weve got a problem. The initial DHCP Discover packet is a broadcast, and the router will not forward that broadcast to the DHCP Server. Luckily, this doesn't mean that we need a DHCP server on every single subnet on the network, because we can configure the router as a DHCP Relay Agent.

A DHCP Relay Agent will forward DHCP Requests to the DHCP Server. You can also configure a Windows server as a DHCP Relay Agent. Naturally, the Relay Agent must be on the same physical segment as the hosts that cannot reach the DHCP Server - never put it on the same segment as the DHCP Server itself.

Configuring a router as a DHCP Relay Agent is a lot different than configuring a Windows server, and your Network+ exam will not require you to configure either. You should know why the need for a Relay Agent exists, though, and should you need to configure one on your network, always check the vendor's documentation.

A Brief Look at Building an Internet Business

These days everybody is talking about starting an internet based business. One of the largest advantages of this type of business is that it involves very little start-up capital and risk. You do not have to quit your job you can start your business working after hours from home.

Accordingly the barrier to entry should be very low, and every Tom, Dick and Harry should have a web based business running, right? Wrong. Starting a web based business is easy. Sustaining a profitable web based business is hard. There are a multitude of aspects to consider, most of them quite complex and hard to understand for the average man-in-the-street.

Lets assume you have a good business idea backed by a solid business plan. You must not underestimate the importance of having a solid business model before attempting to penetrate the massive market the internet opens up to you. Merely having a good website with no business model backing it will get you nowhere. So go sit down and construct your business model in detail, and then read further.

It is often assumed that the creation of the website is relatively simple, and that it is a question of getting someone to design a site for you. This is unfortunately not the case the design and development of your site will entail much more than this. Note that we talk about the design and development, not just the design. Many people believe that Setting up a great website is as simple as doing a nice design, saving it as an HTML (Hypertext Markup Language for those who arent computer nerds), and uploading it to the web. In truth, the design is but a small part of the process. Equally as important is the development of the site.

The development of the site includes all the functionality of the site, and if you desire to have more than a static page that does nothing, the development is where the big work lies. The development includes all the scripting that allows the browser to obtain information from fields on the page, connect to a database, submit or retrieve data from the database, and all other functionality of the site. The development also includes the setup of payment functions, newsletters and security.

There are a myriad of companies offering web page design options. Before choosing a company do thorough research into what the capabilities of the company are. Have a look at the work they have done on other pages. One of the best things to do is to contact one of their clients and to ask them what their experience with the company was.

Do not underestimate the value of being able to visit the company and to be able to talk face-to-face with them. Electronic communication is a brilliant tool, but nothing beats face-to-face communication. It is therefore important to consider making use of a company that is located near you, so that you can visit them in person. Remember, the development of a website is not a short term project, and if you hope to have a successful online business, youll have to have a long term relationship with your web design company in order for you to keep improving and altering your site.

One alternative to consider if you do not have a large budget for your site is to make use of open-source Content Management Systems (CMS). These are systems developed that allow you to build an entire webpage that is extremely powerful. It is also very flexible, with a multitude of components and modules that plug into it that allows you to build almost any functionality into your site. You do need some web development skills to make use of this option successfully, but the system is set up in such a way as to guide you through most of the process. You can have a look at one of the leading CMS sites at www.joomla.org

It can be very rewarding to have the site created and working just like you planned. However, dont expect to have it up and running in no time. Depending on how much time you can put into it, the process can take a long time. Many of the really impressive websites working well and generating income streams took a number of years to build to the level they are currently at.

Search and organize your entire CD and DVD collection

Had you ever inserted multiple compact disks into your PC in an attempt to find just one MP3 song? Its definitely a routine, time-consuming work that you could have easily avoided if youd catalog your files first. But cataloging is difficult and takes more time than just occasionally looking for a file when you need it, right?

Wrong! Cataloging CD and DVD media has never been easier. With powerful computers and sophisticated software you can off-load entire cataloging job to your PC; all you need to do is just inserting the disks one by one. No need to make notes or write down things on paper. Your PC will make the process as easy as one-two-three. Once you try the convenience of your entire CD/DVD collection indexed, theres really no way back!

WinCatalog by Software Institute http://www.softinstitute.com/ is one of the more advanced cataloging tools on the market. It does what its name suggests by automatically indexing files and data such as MP3 tags on your entire CD and DVD collection, but it goes way beyond that. If you are looking for a song, searching by the file name is not always convenient. How about looking for the name of the song, or searching your entire disk collection for all songs performed by a specific artist? That does not take more than a few mouse clicks with WinCatalog!

If you have an abundance of disks, they might get difficult to get around. Mixing data backups with MP3 songs is no fun. WinCatalog lets you organize your collection hierarchically with virtual blue folders, allowing you to create a meaningful structure. For example, you can create different blue folders for DVD movies, audio CDs, digital pictures and data backups.

But what if you are trying to find a file on a CD or DVD that you loaned to a friend and then forgot about it? No problem, as WinCatalog not only finds the file and tells you what CD it was, but can even tell you who and when borrowed that particular disk! Its built-in contact manager lets you track your disks easily. With WinCatalog youll never lose an important disk again!

Once you start organizing things, the convenience of easy index and fast search really strikes at you. So why limiting yourself with just CDs and DVDs? WinCatalog allows you to catalog and track books, VHS tapes, and all other objects such as your stamp collection just as easily as it does with computer disks. WinCatalog wont let you forget about the book that you loaned!

WinCatalog is by all means affordable, but if you just need a simple and free tool to catalog and search your digital media, and do not need reporting and the ability to index things like books and VHS tapes, the free Light version might be just right for you. WinCatalog Light is absolutely free to use, and even includes the useful loaner tracking feature of the Standard edition.

Download your free trial version of WinCatalog from http://www.wincatalog.com/freetrial.html, or get the absolutely free Light edition at http://www.wincatalog.com/light.html

Michael Rusakov is PhD in the sphere of software reliability. He has founded his own company in 2001 for developing WinCatalog. Now after more than 5 years of hard work, the company constantly grows and brings new high quality software to the market.Karlyn Blog29455

MYSQL Database Back Up And Recovery

Do you know that many of the scripts that help us to run our business or websites use MYSQL databases to store their information.

For instance many people use Auto responders to help with collecting and delivering information.

Scripts that produce one time offers, promotion offers, coupons etc all use mysql to store their information.

Mail merge programs often use mysql database to store information.

Wordpress the blog building software that lots of people use to write their blogs uses mysql to store this information.

What a lot of these users dont know is that if they have not backed up their mysql database, then they could lose all their data, this would mean that if they had not backed up their database, they could lose all their customers information, all the email addresses that their auto responder stores in the mysql database.

Any and all information that is collated by the many scripts that run on websites could be lost and the scripts could stop working, all because they did not back up their database. now how you might ask do I know so much about this?

Well I can tell you from first hand experience that losing your database because your server has crashed and lost or scrambled your database can be very expensive, time consuming and frustrating.

Yes It happened to me, I did not back up my database,

My server crashed and like you I assumed that my provider would have backed everything up.

But NO they dont, some do, but lots simply leave it to their customers.

So what can be done, well you could go into all your databases, everyday or maybe weekly and back up your database, If of course you know how to access your database with phpadmin and you know how to back up your database, and you all so know how to restore it should you need to

Or you could use a simple easy to use software that will back up each and every database you have daily, and at the press of a button restore your database for you.

Sounds good, where do you find an expensive bit of software to do that for you?

Well I was so shocked at losing my data, I took the time and trouble to find a software that will do just that, but at a very low cost, yes thats right low cost, my database backup generator software will do all that for you and at low cost, check out it out today at http://www.databasebackup.co.uk read my own sorry story, check out my video that shows just how easy it is to use and you will be pleasantly surprised at how affordable my database backup generator really is.

My Slow PC

Question: Why is my computer running so slow? Do computers slow down when they get older?

Answer: No, but here are some of the most common reasons a computer slows down.

Background programs running:

This is the biggest reason and can be fixed quickly and for free... it's possible that your computer may have so many background programs running simultaneously that there is not enough resources to run normally.

The end result of this is that your computer begins to run more and more slowly over time as you add other programs.

There are two remedies, get Anti-Spyware and use the feature which allows you to view running programs and to disable any of those running programs. Or, if you like to get into your system with your bare hands, use the remedy below.

How to disable unneeded background programs:

All icons in your computer's system tray are background programs using memory. There are more, but you will get a hint from that system tray. To see and exit all running background programs:

Windows 95 - ME

*
a. Press the Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys at the same time.
*
b. Click any program or task except Explorer or Systray,
*
c. and then click End Task.

Repeat steps b and c to quit all programs except Explorer and Systray which are necessary components of Microsoft Windows.

You should now have a clean system. See if the computer runs like it used to... if it does, you will want to prevent those programs from restarting the next time you start the computer.

If you don't want any background programs starting when you restart the system, and you know what you are doing, you can run msconfig from the run menu and completely disable what you find in the 'Startup' tab. If you aren't that experienced and you want a safe way to disable all those unneeded background programs, get the remedy recommended for the spyware on this page. It has a feature allowing you to disable startup programs safely.

Windows XP through 2003 Server

*
a. Press the Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys at the same time.
*
b. Choose 'Task Manager' tab to view and end any running programs.
*
c. disabling these programs will require that you change their startup properties in the 'Administrative Tools' area of your system. The Windows Help menu will walk you though that process if you search 'disable programs' in your help section.

Spyware:

Many kinds of software add themselves to your system start menu without even asking your permission. Sometimes you will click on a link or visit a hacker website that installs spyware on your computer without you knowing. Click here for the best fix. and its free to try.

Fragmented hard drive:

This results from programs being loaded and deleted. Run the Window's hard drive defragmenter (Defrag) once a month. It is under your System Tools menu. Your computer's help menu will tell you how to do it.

Other problems: (Possible, but unlikely to cause problems)

You could have old or conflicting Windows device drivers. An example would be you might actually have two entirely different video drivers on your system and Windows could actually be alternately using both of them.

To prevent this problem, First boot the computer in Safe Mode by pressing and holding the F8 key during startup, after the DOS memory check has completed.

While in Safe Mode select Start/Settings/Control Panel/System/Devices. Click on all the devices and see if the various drivers have any yellow or red exclamation marks (which indicates a driver conflict) and also determine if there are any duplicate drivers that can be eliminated.

You may have to delete and reload a driver to correct these problems. Duplicate drivers can and should be deleted.

As each new Windows program is installed and uninstalled, it leaves behind parts of itself that can slow down or crash your computer. These are mostly .dlls and other shared files.

It's also very possible when uninstalling a program that needed Windows system files can be deleted. When your computer asks if you want to uninstall shared files it's usually safest to say no -- even if your uninstall program claims the files are not being used.

Old Windows drivers can be found by booting into Safe Mode, then opening Control Panel/System/Devices and ridding your system of old drivers.

Otherwise, the only real answer to this problem is to pick up ERROR DOCTOR or just reload Windows into a new directory which eliminates all old junk and leftover files. Reloading Windows is something to do last, as you will also have to reload all your Windows settings, drivers, and programs.

You could be lacking system memory - The only time this may be a problem is if you have an older system and upgraded your operating system without adding some more memory. You should probably upgrade to 256 or 512MB or more of system memory, while it isn't free, it isn't very expensive like it was at one time. Check out Tiger Direct to find great deals on memory upgrades.

Internet Marketing: The Five Essential Tools You Need

Since the rise of the Internet, people have been taking advantage of this technology, they have been using it as a tool for cheap communication, for research in school projects and people have been also using the Internet to start their own business.

Existing businesses have also begun taking advantage of the Internet to promote their products and services. Besides, where else can you find cheap and a very public way to market your products and services?

The Internet today is used by almost everyone in the modern world. It is a very powerful tool that can let you compete with big companies in terms of advertising. Here are five Internet marketing tools that will allow you to market your business products and/or services in the Internet.

-Email account - The first thing you need to have when you want to be successful in Internet marketing is an email account. It is recommended that you should have a large capacity email account that can support large attachments, large storage space and also other features that you won't see in free email accounts. However, there are certain free email accounts that offer large capacity emails. You can consider these email accounts to really make use of your Internet marketing strategy.

-Auto responder - At the beginning of your Internet marketing campaign, you should expect that you would only be receiving limited amounts of email. With these emails, you can handle responding to it one by one. However, if your Internet marketing strategy is working, you will see that you will receive a lot of emails. You will receive inquiries, sales and also complaints. For your business to be successful and also build your reputation, you need to respond to these emails as soon as possible. You don't want to keep people from waiting for your emails. So, in order for you to respond to these emails, you will need an email auto responder.

-List server - Another tool you need is a list server. A list server is an essential management tool for your incoming inquiries, orders, requests and even complaints. A list server is a very effective tool that can send numerous emails all at once. Whether it be promotions of new products and services or other announcements regarding your business, a list server can do the job for you.

-PDF compiler - Time will come that you will need to distribute e-books and other online information products. To do this, you will need to put many of them into PDF format to avoid someone from copying it. There are different PDF compiler software programs available in the market, and most comes with tutorials.

-Website - Of course, to make all of these things work, you need a running website. A website is an effective Internet marketing tool that will allow you to showcase your products and services. You can put a lot of things in your website, such as downloadable e-books, and even short articles that will describe your company, the products or services you're offering and also why people needs your products.

These are the five most essential tools in Internet marketing. So, if you have an existing business or if you plan on starting a business, you can effectively have access to cheap or even free advertising by using the Internet.

Buying The Right Notebook

The single most important reason anyone buys a notebook is for portability. This is something that you can take anywhere. If you frequently travel in your work, you need a notebook. If you are a student going back and forth to the university, you need a notebook. If you are journalist traveling the world and submitting articles, you need a notebook. And todays notebooks can be as powerful as most desktops with dual processors, large capacity internal drives, and other attractive features. But which one is right for you? How do you determine what type of notebook will fit your current needs plus allow you to expand for the future?

And the first part of the answer to the question of which one is right for you leads to a half-answer: It depends. It depends on what you are going to do with the computer. Are you going to use it for work or recreation? Is it something needed for your profession or are you a hobbyist? Do you play a lot of games? What level of internet access do you need? It is also important to remember that unlike desktop models, notebook computers cannot be upgraded easily. In fact, they usually have no upgrade path so you should take the time to get exactly what you need in terms of features and performance.

One characteristic of a notebook computer one should consider is the screen size. If you need to be able to have a lot of landscape for projects you are working on then consider a wider screen. Screen sizes usually can range from 10.4 inches to 17.1 inches. If you do a lot of work on an airliner in economy class, you are probably better off with a smaller screen size (because of the reclining seatbacks in front of you). Also a smaller notebook is just easier and lighter to carry around. Some who do presentations with their notebook computers will benefit from larger screen sizes such as those that use the newer WXGA technology. WXGA notebook screens can achieve resolutions up to 1366 by 768 pixels.

Battery life in your notebook computer is very important too. If you move around quite a bit, you might want to consider buying a notebook with not only a long lasting battery (most go 2-3 hours), but also one where buying a spare battery is not very expensive. One very inexpensive solution for the battery problem is to buy an external universal battery that can last up to 3-4 hours.

Another feature you need to consider when buying a notebook is internet connectivity. You will find that a popular way for people to work these days is with a wifi-enabled notebook at a wireless hotspot (such as in coffee shops, restaurants, libraries and airports). If you are buying an older used notebook, you may have to get an additional wifi-card if you want to have the mobile connectivity provided by this technology. Also, you will find that most hotels nowadays offer high-speed internet access but it is usually through a wifi connection.

And lastly, you need to consider what other options you want for your notebook computer. Do you want a CD writer or will you need to record DVDs? Do you need premium sound? How large of a disk drive do you need? When it comes to disk space, CD/DVD writers, sound cards, memory, and processor speed, its best to get it now as opposed to get it later. Heres why: The upgrade path for most laptops and notebooks is not very long. This is because notebooks are probably replaced every 2-3 years. They are quick becoming just as expendable as a set of tires for your car. And if you do not maximize on memory and processor speed, your notebook may not able run efficiently the new application and game software. The more your notebook is adaptable to software upgrades, the longer it will be an effective tool for you.

How To House Train a Dog - The First Step

I do a lot of writing in various areas and much of it has to do with how to do things. Usually, the articles are fairly general and are related to more extensive and complex resources available online. After all, one short article isn't going to be enough to teach you how to house train a dog. The point though is that, in almost every case, people's apparent inability to achieve their goal, whether it's how to potty train a dog or stop a cat's destructive behavior, is almost always the result of not actually carrying through and doing it.

There are books, training videos, probably vast MP3 collections, all of which can teach you or show you how to house train a dog. Now there are some people who are collectors. They just love to get everything about dog training, dogs, dog breeds all the way to the that non-existent but highly desirable "The Everything Dog Training and Trick Book". Others are really looking for a solution but keep going from one to another looking for something that requires no effort on their part. Just like everything else in life, potty training a dog takes actual work and effort on your part.

The amount of work involved in potty training a dog is not a back-breaker, but you need to learn how to go about it. You need to pay close attention to the process and you need to carry through with the training. There's just no other way. Nobody's selling a magic wand you just wave around - and Shazaam, you don't need to know how to house train your dog because - miraculously - your dog has become instantly potty trained. Somehow though, a lot of folks seem to keep thinking that if they keep looking eventually they'll find that easy magic solution.

Hopefully, you now get the idea of what the first step in house training a dog - or, in fact, any kind of dog or pet training is. You have to decide you are serious enough about it to actually do it even if it takes some time and effort. If you can't do that then there's absolutely no point in spending any money on a course or videos or an ebook on how to house train a dog. You're going to need the money for cleaning expenses.

To help get through that first block, think about what a nasty unending on-going mess you will have to deal with if your dog is not house trained. Day after day, week after week. Dogs can live a long time.

This same principle applies to any undesirable behavior. A well trained dog makes a fair more pleasant companion and requires far less work on your part. And an untrained dog can be a serious risk, especially if it has aggressive tendencies.

Learning how to house train a dog is generally the first step that people want to take with a new puppy. But it should also fit into learning how to train your dog to be a great companion. You are supposed to be the boss and that means you do need to learn how to be good master or mistress. That can make the difference between a wonderful experience and an ongoing miserable struggle with your dog that no one wins.

There are some excellent guides, in different styles, which are easily available on the internet. Generally, which might be best for you depends on your style and how you learn best. If you prefer to read and are interested in more detail and information, then an ebook with step-by-step instructions on how to house train a dog (with pictures, of course) might be the best solution.

On the other hand, if you learn more easily by watching video and listening, then a video course might be better. There are advantages to both and many people have found it helpful to eventually get more than one guide.

Whichever style is best for you, these guides offer you more than simply a method on how to house train a dog. The best ones teach you step by step how to solve other common dog behavior problems and teach you methods you can use to deal with whatever undesirable behavior problems your dog develops. Life with a dog can be very satisfying and enjoyable, but it is also largely dependent on you taking the steps necessary to learn how to train your dog.

How To Do Active Listening

Active listening is another basic tool of effective communication. It is employed whenever the other has a problem. We want to listen carefully to what the other is trying to say. Here are some guidelines for doing this.

1) LOOK INTO OTHER'S EYES - This is especially important, as the eyes are the real channels of deeper communication. If the other is talking to us and we are looking at TV, the computer, newspaper, or out the window, at the ceiling, down toward the floor, he or she does not feel recognized, important or connected with us.

2) GIVE EVIDENCE OF INTEREST- We can nod occasionally, make facial movements that indicate that we are listening and understanding.

3) VERIFY IF YOU UNDERSTAND OR NOT- We can ask questions that enable us to clarify if we understand what the other is saying. This is also important for the other to realize that we are listening and interested.

4) NO ADVICE OR CRITICISM - We avoid giving advice, and in all cases, we do not criticize or judge. All the truths that the other needs are within. We are there to help the other come into contact with his or her own inner truth and wisdom. This is the greatest gift we can offer someone.

5) IMAGINE YOU ARE WHAT THE OTHER FEELS - NEEDS - Empathy is an important ability in such situations as it allows the other to feel understood and cared for, but also allows us to experience his or her inner reality and thus be guided to ask more astute and effective questions or make gestures that will more effectively help the other.

Here, however, it is important not to get lost with the other. If the other is drowning in a sea of emotions, we need two abilities. One is to get into the sea with him or her so we can touch them and bring them out. The other is to simultaneously be aware that:

a. This is a soul in an evolutionary process that is experiencing exactly what he or she needs to in order to develop on an inner level at this time. What he or she is going through is a "soul choice."

b. That this is an immortal divine being who has temporarily lost contact with its inner wisdom and guidance, and that the greatest gift we can offer is to help that being reconnect with the truth and power within.

6) BE GENUINE - NOT PHONY- It will not do to fake interest or feelings. The other will see through this. We need to be interested, but also to be ourselves.

7) ASK - QUESTIONS - There are two types of questions.

a. Questions we ask in order to clarify that we understand what we are hearing and also to verify to the other that we are interested and understand.

b. Questions we ask in order to enable the other to realize more clearly his or her feelings, needs, beliefs, perhaps past experiences that may be contributing to the problem, and, of course, solutions.

This is a technique used by psychologists and psychotherapists to facilitate an individuals self-knowledge and transformation. It is also a technique used thousands of years ago by the philosopher Socrates to guide people to the truth within.

USE OF ACTIVE LISTENING

There are two situations where we use "Active Listening."

1. We need to close any I-message by the opening toward the other and giving him or her the opportunity to express his or her feelings, thoughts and needs concerning the matter we have presented. We now want to help the other to express his or her inner world so we can understand him or her more deeply and thus improve our relationship. This is an essential part of every I-message and also an essential part of communication.

2. We also employ active listening when the other person has a problem, feels unhappy or is dissatisfied with something. Here are two situations:

a. The first is when the others problem is not related to our behavior. In this case, rather than give advice, we can help the other much more efficiently by listening and asking questions that help him or her gain clarity and make their own decisions about possible solutions.

b. The second is when we are "their problem." In such a case, we often get caught up in an emotional merry-go-round and lose sight of the fact that they have the problem, not us. Our problem is that we do not like to be accused, criticized or made to feel guilty for what we may be doing that the other person is using to create unhappiness in him or herself. We often get lost in our hurt and defensiveness and begin the endless game of defending and counter-accusing, which leads to a complete break down in communication.

If we can remember at that moment that the other person has the problem and not identify with our personality that is being criticized or accused (imagine he or she is talking about someone else), we can respond with active listening, rather than excuses, self-defense and counter-accusations.

Through active listening, we can get a much clearer idea of what is really bothering the other person.

1. We may find he or she is right. We may find we were innocently unaware of how important something was to him or her.

2. By mutually exploring the problem in depth, the other person might realize it is his or her attachments and weaknesses that are causing the pain, not our behavior.

3. We may come to the realization that we have been so preoccupied with our own insecurities and needs that we have been truly inconsiderate of the others needs and may want to thank him or her for pointing this out, before making the appropriate change in our behavior.

In other words, through actively listening at the moment when the other person has the problem, there will be communication, not the usual melodramatic court case.

When we find ourselves with a person who is criticizing or accusing us, let us remember it is his or her problem. He or she is unhappy and disturbed about something that may or may not be our fault. Rather than feel hurt and defensive, let us listen as though he or she is talking about someone else and ask as many questions as we can to help both of us understand the real problem more clearly. Then let us discuss what might be some of the possible solutions, i.e., changes in our behavior, in the other's programming or both.

7 Days To Affiliate Marketing Mastery!

Are you struggling with your affiliate business? Discover how to become a super affiliate in seven days with a complete step-by-step affiliate marketing blueprint.

Many affiliates are not making any money with the programs they promote because they are simply making a lot of mistakes, which prevent them from bringing their affiliate marketing business to the next level.

The right affiliate strategy can help you make your first sale in one week, or more. It will depend on how much effort you put into the battle.

Follow these seven days to affiliate marketing profit and you should do well, and see your first affiliate sale very soon. When I saw that blueprint for the first time, I was skeptical; but when I saw commissions in my affiliate account, I knew that the process was working perfectly.

The problem is not in the process but with the affiliate marketer who didn't set a clear goal with a plan and didnt take action to achieve the success that many other super affiliates are enjoying.

So here is the plan that you must follow if you want to make your first commission in affiliate marketing...next week:

Day 1: Find a profitable market

Finding a profitable market is where most affiliates fail and then give up. It's not their fault, but nobody takes the time to explain that.

When you are starting, it is better to start with a huge market that is already profitable, like golf, weight loss, finance, self-help, beauty, sports, fitness...

Start by researching what those people want, what they are searching for on the Internet. For that, you will need a keyword research tool like Goodkeywords.com or Yahoo search marketing tool.

Day 2: Find an affiliate product for this market

Before finding the product, try to identify the needs of your targeted market. Your chosen product must be excellent; and you want to have a good commission that will reward you, motivate you and cover your affiliate campaign costs. You can start with clickbank.com or cj.com.

You must verify the sales page to see if it will convert your visitors into sales.

Day 3: Know and understand your product

Know that the goal of the affiliate is to pre-sell and not to sell. The merchant must sell his product, not you.

You should pre-sell (capture and warm up) your product to your subscriber. For that, you need to know the benefits of the product for your subscribers, and the best way to do that is to own the product.

Day 4: Prepare your advertising plan

Prepare your material: ads, articles, where you will advertise this affiliate program: Start with articles and pay-per-click traffic via Google Adwords.

Day 5: Prepare yourself to capture your prospects

You must not send your visitor to the merchant page, but you must capture his name and email address first, to secure your future affiliate commissions.

Day 6: Write your killer follow-up material

After capturing his email address, the pre-written message in your autoresponder will do the work for you and close the sale.

Day 7: Drive tons of traffic to your lead capture page

When everything is ready, start to advertise your affiliate program. Actually, you will show your lead capture (also called opt-in or squeeze page) page to the world, and take your future buyer's email address. One of the most effective ways to advertise it is to write articles.

Remember: the affiliate marketing process works, and it is perfect. But it will not work without you. So take action, and when you start to see your affiliate commissions, you will know that it is working; and you will be able to master the affiliate marketing game and become a super affiliate.

Creating Your Easy Website, What Is Hyper Text Markup Language

Creating your easy website, what is hyper text markup language

Creating a website is not so much a feat, if we compare it to the education of other technical skills. Most people tend to give up and pack their bags as soon as they hear the word programming and technical. They think it`s too much of a hassle to actually learn a whole computer language. HTML, the most basic computer language in building websites, is actually pretty simple to understand, as long as we have the interest in learning new things.

What is HTML?

HTML is the acronym for Hyper Text Markup Language. For learning purposes, just think of it as a language that the computer understands. For example, as humans, we were taught different languages; i.e. HTML as a language, is mostly and specifically used to create a website. The web browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, will then decipher and interpret the code or rather, language(HTML), and display it in a way we can understand it, just like in a basic webpage.

Coding.

Coding the HTML language might be a bit tough for some people, so we can actually purchase programmes, such as Macromedia Dreamweaver, or even Microsoft Frontpage. These programmes are solely created to help individuals in designing professional webpages/websites.

Furthermore, one could also gain access to online web-builders, website builders that are inbuilt and can be directly controlled from the net. There are many different and specific builders online.

Books and magazines contain guides that can help in offering tutorials and ways to put up our own websites. Even online tutorials are credible, as in the modern world, information technology is the best and most cost efficient way in retaining knowledge, especially in this particular field.

So, you could start and build one right away. If you enjoy coding, it might even become a favourable past-time.

Who's Your Mentor?

Whenever we undertake a new venture, be it coaching basketball, some kind of business startup, a hobby or whateverwe usually need help.

Help could come in as simple a form as a brochure, but if were really starting something that is taking us into our own unchartered waters, we will be better served having a guide, rather than trying to figure out how to do whatever it is were trying to attempt.

Henry Ford, in running his company, had a bank of buttons on his desk. When he needed advice on accounting, he pressed a button to call in his accounting guru. For engineering, he pressed another button. Henry Ford was successful, in part at least, because he knew that he couldnt know and do it all by himself. He kept a stable of mentors-gurus who were knowledgeable in areas where he wasnt.

Most of us dont have the luxury of having gurus at our beck-and-call. However, in this computer age, we are closer to being able to reach out for a mentor, anywhere in the world we may be, and anywhere in the world a mentor might be.

We can go one-on-one with someone who knows what we want to know without ever leaving our home.

I was in a group with a financial mentor who told us to, find someone who has what we want, do what they did, to get what they got. Ill admit, I tried that, but didnt get quite the results Id aspired to, however I learned a lot. This method works for some highly dedicated people, but most of us average folks may come up short, as I did.

Im ready to retire, and want to have a renewable income source to keep me financially secure for the rest of my life. I decided to take everything Id been doing for more than fifty years in basketball and market it to the world. This would have been extremely difficult for me in the 70s, 80s and 90s, but now in the new millennium, I can accomplish this via the internet.

Cool. Im ready to go. Now, exactly how do I go about this? My computer knowledge and abilities are minimal. So, I got a mentor. That got me started. Now I have three mentors, and have gone through a couple of others. Because I need new information all the time, I can keep reaching out there into cyberspace to find the help I need. I ask, what do I need to do? and they tell me what to do and how to do it. Do I pay for this? Yes. Whats the alternativegoing to school for years to hopefully gain some of the knowledge they bring to me immediately, or use the trip-fumble-stumble method of trying to do it myself?

When I first started out as a basketball coach, I was a nineteen year old and college student running an after-school recreation program at an elementary school. Even though I had played basketball in high school, I was by no means qualified to teach it.

Upon graduation from college my first basketball coaching position was at the middle school level and I found quickly that I needed more education.

During those formative years of my coaching I searched for as much help as I could get and found it from some of the most talented people of that era.

In the 1960s, I fell in love with teaching basketball defense after reading a book entitled, Mosquito Defense, written by Al McGuire, Marquette Universitys coach. I used his methods of swarming defense successfully for many years, at the junior high and then at the high school levels.

I worked hard at teaching myself how to coach basketball and each season I improved, but it was a slow process.

A few years later, and with some seasoning behind me, my journey to teaching-coach moved up a notch from just reading about basketball to becoming proactive--attending clinics, seminars and camps. Among the clinicians to whom I owe much of what I know about teaching defense was Bobby Knight. This was in the 70s. Knight, at that time, was the acclaimed guru of defense. His approach to playing defense and how to teach it, was innovative and genius to this young coach from California. His man-to-man defense philosophy and techniques gave me the ability to teach individual defense and then be able to build this knowledge right into my team defense. What I learned from Coach Knight, combined with my early success with Mosquito Defense, enabled me to develop my own brand of defense and my Giant Killer defense emerged. Defense was to become my hallmark as a coach and later as an international consultant and lecturer.

These talented mentors inspired me to want to be more than just a successful high school coach. I read what they wrote; took notes on what they had to say at coaching clinics; I participated as a coach in their camps; I even took my players and my small sons to listen to them speak, to attend the camps as players, and to watch their teams practice. None of these mentors knew my name or would remember me, but they influenced my early growth in becoming the teacher of the game into which I evolved.

Now Im a basketball coaching mentor for others. Oh, certainly not like Bobby Knight, Abe Lemons, Pete Newell, or John Wooden. But, I bring my teaching DVD, e-Books, basketball coaches tutoring, monthly newsletter and more to a special niche market. My more than 50 years of basketball playing and coaching experience have been successful, by won-loss standards and in the number of coaches and players Ive helped to develop all around the world.

My focus is on the niche market where new, aspiring coaches venture into the sport without much more of a clue than a 19 year old boy in California had in getting started. I work with these newbie basketball coaches, with coaches who have some experience but are still learning, and even with more experienced coaches looking for a splinter of information which might give them the help they need to get to the next level of basketball coaching success. I work with high school players, whose goal is to play college ball, and teach position specific skills to help them be successful. My goaland my promiseto each coach or player I work with, is that I will take them to a higher level of teaching and playing than they were at when we got started together.

The role of the mentor is to teach and guide the student to a higher level of understanding and skill, no matter what the field of interest may be.

Are you looking for a higher level of success from where you are? Who is your mentor?

Coach Ronn Wyckoff has spent more than fifty years in basketball, as a player and coach. As an international consultant, his programs have reached hundreds of players and coaches around the world. In forty-plus years of coaching, he has coached from school levels to national teams, winning over 70%. Go to http://www.top-basketball-coaching.comKessiah Blog79489

Poker Bluffing 101

Bluffing by many in poker is being dealt with a weak hand and driving other players out of the pot. Bluffing happens to be the true art of deception which done right will win many poker hands. This is a must have art to be a successful poker player.

24 Hrs Of Poker offers areas where the use of bluffing will be evident as follows:

a. Bluffing comes in handy during betting or raising a weak hand. The art requires one to act as if you have the best hand even though it's weak. However this can work to your advantage if you have a strong hand and acting as it;s a weak one which can draw other players into betting more...

b. Bluff when betting or raising on the cheap rounds of poker. This definitely can help you get a free card later on especially when the cost of bets are higher.

c. There is also the semi- bluff which a player has a couple of ways to win. The opposing player may think the bluffer has the better hand and then fold. The other instance of a semi- bluff could be when the opposing player calls, the bluffer could actually catch their key card and win the hand.

A successful poker player masters the middle road when bluffing. The overall objective while playing poker is to keep your opponents guessing. Bluffing should always be done in true moderation and caution.

Always remember that bluffing is about positioning ,especially if you are playing last since you had a chance to review the actions of your opponents. However the strongest position to bluff is to do it first. Bluffing first portrays the image of a very strong hand. This can be the avenue that forces a player with a very mediocre hand to fold.

The art of bluffing comes with time. Always take time before trying to bluff because it could leave you broke if not mastered correctly.

Cold Calling Intel

The statistic quoted loudly by those who do not know how to cold call is this, "An industry rule of thumb holds that only about 2% of cold calls produce solid prospects." That has been the industry stat since the early 1950's and means any idiot can pick up the phone, call prospects, and expect to find that 2% of the people on the cold calling list to turn into solid prospects.

Successful sales pros know cold calling is a great way to build and add to a client base out of thin air.

The tremendous advantage of cold calling is this: No other marketing method allows sales professionals to reach as many prospects in as short a period of time.

Before your colleagues tries to lull you into believing, the 2% figure only proves that cold calling is a tactic with a low return on time spent, stop and do some focused thinking about the importance and value of cold calling metrics.

Fact is a 2% return is the very place where every expert cold callers start. 2% is the test number sellers know they can hit if they get up in the morning and make calls. These experts want great results; and make all sorts of adjustments that allow them to beat 2% in geometric proportions. How do they do this? By ruthless examination of additional metrics that have meaning to outrageously successful cold callers. Such as:

1. Percentage of appointments scheduled out of every 10 calls made.

2. Percentage of callbacks from voice mail messages

3. Percentage of appointment scheduled with callbacks from voice mail

4. Average number of calls made to each prospect to schedule an appointment

5. Differences in numbers of appointments scheduled with changes made in words spoken

The good news is your industry colleagues watch just one of these five important cold calling business metrics.

The bad news is you very well may be like most sellers who cold call and:

1. Settle for only one of five important cold calling metrics

2. Fail to leverage even that one metric into a higher response rate

3. Fail to capitalize on cold calling as a significant part of their sales strategy

You have got to ask yourself, are you going to be among the masses who settle for what's been the norm for half-a-century? Or are you going to join the ranks of the elite sellers who examine their Cold Calling Intel to leverage the power and profit awaiting the serious student of cold calling? The answer to these important questions can dramatically change the results of your cold calls.

How To Choose A Bathroom Mirror

Mirrors of different designs and sizes are used in bathrooms, according to the size of the bathroom, and individual preference. One of the most prominent functions of a bathroom mirror is to reflect the available light. This may be natural or artificial light.

Bathroom mirrors are available in the market in different forms, and in different sizes. They can be round, oval, rectangular and with or without a frame.

A unique and stylish touch can be given to your bathroom by using decorative mirrors. These mirrors are available in the market in various sizes, finishes and prices. Your bathroom mirror should not be bigger than your vanity, because if you are using sidelights in your bathroom, then the exterior limit of the lights can go beyond the vanity. How To Choose A Prepaid Cell Phone

There are many important aspects to consider when contemplating becoming a prepaid cell phone user. You should ask yourself what your needs, concerns, and wants are, and although this may take some effort, your effort will be rewarded with a great prepaid cell phone handset and plan. It is important to have all of this information so that you can compare differences and figure out what will best suit you personally. Although some carriers may not want you to have access to all of this information due to competition, you can attain access and find the answers that you need in order to make the best decision for you.

Important things to take consideration of are the following:

* Cost. It is important to try and break down the pricing as much as possible. It is best if you can narrow it down to per minute charges. Do not forget to also include fees. There may be certain day usage fees, or you may be charged more for your first minute per day than for the rest of them.

* Cell Phone Handset. It is important to love your cell phone, or else you will not want to keep it with you and the plan is pointless. It is a common misconception that you cannot get a decent phone with prepaid plans, but due to the number of major carriers who are now offering prepaid there are many phone options. Make sure that the phone you purchase has all of the necessary features that you want and need.

* Technology Leveling. Prepaid cell phone plans now offer picture messaging, text messaging, video messaging, flip phones, color screens, and many other wonderful amenities. Make sure that you consider all of the charges associated with these added benefits. The different prices range, but they can all be broken down to per usage charges.

* Extra Cost. Remember to also factor in the cost per usage for things such as 411 calling, international charges, long distance, and roaming charges.

* Minute Expiration. Providers sometimes set expiration dates on the purchased minutes. Be sure to know and understand how their system works so that you do not purchase minutes that you will not get to use. Oftentimes providers require you to purchase a certain amount of minutes per month, but some offer longer periods of time.

Each one of these aspects is important when determining which prepaid cell phone provider you are going to choose. It is important also to remember that you can get a phone with all the feature and amenities that you seek, and typically for much less. Deals, sales, and discounts are prevalent in the market, and are often easily found on the internet or through other ads. Take the time to compare the different amenities and costs, and make the right decision the first time.

Shelly Walther has written several articles on prepaid cell phones. She has researched many different options and understands how prepaid can benefit users. The Different Types Of Affiliate Marketing

There are different types or classes of affiliate marketing, and the number of types will depend on how one classify them. However, the most basic affiliate marketing programs, falls under pay-per-performance (PPP).

Pay Per Performance (PPP)

PPP affiliate marketing is the most popular among merchant and is also the most lucrative type for the affiliates. In this type of affiliate program, the merchant only pays the affiliate whenever his referral translates into an action - that is whenever the visitor he has referred actually purchase something from the merchant's site or when the visitor becomes a lead. This means a lot of savings for the merchant as compared to paid advertising. On the other hand, it becomes the most lucrative type for the dedicated affiliate, for the commissions offered by the merchant in PPP affiliate marketing usually comes in the range of 20% to 75% of the actual product sales.

Pay-per-performance affiliate marketing can be further classified into two popular types: pay-per-sales (PPS) and pay-per-lead (PPL).

o Pay Per Sale (PPS)

In a pay-per-sale type of affiliate marketing, the merchants pay the affiliate a certain fee whenever the visitor he has referred to the merchant's site actually buys something from the merchant's site. Affiliates are often paid on commission basis, although other merchants would opt to pay a fixed fee. But no matter what the basis of the fee is, it is almost always a higher percentage commission and a higher fixed fee that would motivate and attract more affiliate to work harder for the merchant. This is a win-win situation, the affiliate earns more while the merchant gets more sales for doing nothing.

o Pay Per Lead (PPL)

The PPL type of affiliate marketing is a slight variation of the PPS type and is often used by companies who rely on leads for their company to grow. In this type of affiliate marketing, the affiliate is paid whenever the visitor he referred to the merchant's site fills up an application form or any similar form related to the business of the company. Compensation for this type of affiliate marketing is based on a fixed fee whose rates approximate that of the fixed fee in the PPS type.

Aside from these two main types of affiliate marketing, a lot of other affiliate marketing types exist. If the classification is based on the depth of the affiliate network, it can be classified as single-tier, two-tier, and multi-tier affiliate marketing. There is residual income affiliate marketing that pays the affiliate each time the same customer he has referred purchases the same product again or some other product from the merchant's site.

Single-Tier, Two-Tier, and Multi-Tier Affiliate Marketing

These types of affiliate marketing are based on the different levels or tiers in the affiliate network by which payments are made. These structures offer more incentive and further motivate the affiliates to work harder and very quickly build a fleet of affliates under the merchant.

In a single-tier affiliate marketing program, the affiliates are only paid based on the direct sales or traffic he has referred to the merchant. PPS and PPL affiliate marketing types) fall under the single-tier classification.

In two-tier affiliate marketing programs, the affiliate is not only paid for the direct lead or sales that he refers to the merchant's site, but also on every lead or sales referred by various other affiliates who joined the affiliate program through his recommendation.

Multi-tier affiliate marketing works the same way, that the affiliate gets additional commission for a wider number of affiliates in different tiers in the affiliate network.

Residual Income Affiliate Marketing

In residual income affiliate marketing, the affiliate gets paid not only once for the customer he has referred to the merchant's site. Rather, the affiliate is also paid whenever the customer he has referred returns to the site and purchase the same product or another product. Compensation for such type of affiliate marketing is based on either sales percentage commission or fixed fee basis.

The different affiliate marketing types would virtually work differently for merchants and affiliates alike, and each would generally have their own list of benefits. Which type of affiliate marketing will work best for a merchant? Rather, it is to choose which type of affiliate marketing program will suit the merchant's needs and characteristics best.

Ultimate Money Maker or Ultimate Scam? My review of Ultimate Wealth Package

So youve heard about Mark Warrens Ultimate Wealth Package and you want to know if it can make you money.

Most likely, the reason why youre here is to receive an opinion from someone who has used this product.

Before you get started, you should know that you will not make money overnight. Ultimate Wealth Package is not a get rich quick scheme and they dont claim to be. Success with package will take time and effort. There is a learning curve to this system and your success will depend on how hard you work at it.

Lets start with the good points:

Ultimate Wealth Package offers in-depth insight into the world of affiliate marketing. It covers everything from creating ad campaigns and maintaining customer loyalty through opt-in lists. For those who are just entering the field, Ultimate Wealth Package is an information gold mine. The package shows you step by step how to build up your online business. They even include a free website with their package.

As an added bonus, Ultimate Wealth Package packs a ton of extra goodies, especially for those who opt for the VIP package. Among these bonuses are over 100 extra e-books (covering a wide variety of topics on how to make money online), software packages, and audio interviews with marketing experts. UWP even offers 24 hour, toll-free phone support, a feature that I have not seen with any other wealth package.

Unfortunately, UWP is far from perfect:

While Ultimate Wealth Package offers a free website, its only for beginners. The site is ill-suited for applying Mark Warrens more advanced strategies and you drop it once youre ready to go to the next level.

Probably the worst part of Ultimate Wealth Package is the expectations. Mark Warren has really shot himself in foot with this one folks. He pads his website with tons of stories of people making lots of money quick. This wont happen for most people. Dont be surprised if it takes a while for you to start earning an income. As I said earlier, success will take time and effort.

So what's the verdict?

Ultimate Wealth Package receives my full recommendation. The strategies it preaches can be used by both novices and experts. After using this product, you might realize that you dont like internet marketing. If thats the case, simply exercise UWPs 60 day money-back guarantee.

Just to let you know, prepare to learn a lot. Ultimate Wealth Package gave me my start in affiliate marketing and 2 days after buying it, I felt like my brain was going to explode. There was just so much information!! My advice to novices: dont get overwhelmed and discouraged. Just continue to practice Mark Warrens techniques and eventually, youll get the hang of it.

Why Is Wireless Technology Is Taking Over How We Live ?

Wireless Internet technology, also known as WiFi, is really taking over the way people access the Internet and it has become widely popular in a very short time. The reason for this is it allows individuals to access the Internet via a network hot spot without the use of cables or wires. The signal is simply transferred through radio signals, which makes connecting to the Internet via your computer in different locations very easy.

Since wireless technology makes connecting to the Internet as simple as possible, many businesses, universities, hotels, cafes, schools, airports and homes are realizing the importance of offering easy Internet connections to both students and professionals. Generally, hotspots are offered to patrons at a reasonable hourly rate or either free, depending on where the hot spot is and who the target market is.

The one disadvantage these businesses have that install wireless networks is that any user in the area of the network can log on. For those offering free service this is not big deal, but for those charging for Internet it is. There are, however, security precautions that can eliminate unauthorized users that include a virtual private network and Internet Protocol Security.

The hot spots are really catching on worldwide, so if you are traveling or even just in your city, you will notice many areas that say hot spot or Internet zone. Cafes and bookstores as well as hotels and airports are some of the more popular areas that you will see on a regular basis with hot spots. However, more and more locations are noticing the need for this service and offering it.

If wireless Internet is something you really enjoy in the real world, then you can also have it in your own private home or business. It makes working or surfing the web significantly easier for all the Internet users because you can work wherever you need or want without the hassle of a lot of wires and cables. So, if you want wireless Internet go ahead and have it installed or install it yourself because it is really effortless and takes little time.

There is some equipment you will need to get started, of which you can buy yourself or pay a technician for all of the equipment and the service of installing the wireless Internet. Basically, you need to have a high speed Internet service, a router, and then each computer that will access the network needs a wireless Internet card if you did not buy it WiFi ready.

If you want to install wireless yourself you should simply buy the recommended materials and then follow the directions. There is a lot of help online that will guide you through the process. However, if you dont feel like dealing with the headache then simply hire a technician to handle the whole process for you.

Finally, when you have wireless Internet installed in your home or office, remember that you should take some precautions to prevent your neighbors or other unauthorized users from stealing your Internet. A virtual private network or Internet Protocol Security will secure your network and allow only authorized users to connect.

MP4 Player Wholesalers - Finding Quality Products And Suppliers In China

Importing electronic devices from China and other Asian countries is a very profitable business and lately the number of MP4 player wholesalers has skyrocketed. Why? Well, first of all because the largest consumer of electronic goods, the US market, is getting ready for the next step in portable entertainment MP4 players. The second reason for this new interest in MP4 player wholesalers and MP4 imports is that early product sampling and negotiations with the wholesaler could give US vendors and edge when the customers come rushing in to purchase MP4 players. You can checkout some of the newest MP4 models direct from China here: http://www.chinavasion.com/index.php/cName/mp4-players/

MP4 player samples

Although MP4 technology is fairly new, there are already dozens of MP4 video player manufacturers. One of the best ways to determine how valuable their product is and how reliable your business partner proves to be is by requesting samples of their products. Of course, there is no written rule for this process, and in most cases this will have to be negotiated on an individual basis. Small US-based vendors may have a hard time receiving free samples from different Chinese manufacturers and other MP4 player wholesalers. In such cases, it is up to the US vendor to decide whether they want to make a small investment and purchase several units or if they wish to sit back and watch how the market is evolving.

What to look for in a MP4 player product?

One of the key elements to reaching a wide and highly targeted consumer market is to anticipate their preference for the new products. In other words, you should not import tens of thousands of cheap and low-quality MP4 players if the public is looking for higher prices but better features and image quality.

Here are some features of a top quality MP4 player that should appeal to a large audience:

Memory: Built-in 1.8 inches 20GB Hard Disc, for example, would give you large capacity for storing whole movies in high resolution.
Connection: USB 2.0 for faster transfer speed.
Video playing: MPEG-4 format including DivX.
Resolution: QCIF/CIF/1/2D/2/3D and D1
Music Playing: MP3 / WMA formats
TV Recording: AV input / Video record
Picture format: JPEG and GIF
Internal power: rechargeable lithium ion battery
Acceptable battery time: Video - 3 hours, Audio - 5 hours
Accessories: USB cable, stereo earphones, installation CD, charger

Finding a reliable wholesaler

As with any type of business, you want to make sure that your business partner is reliable and trustworthy. For retailers looking for an overseas partner and an import business, the best solution is to go with a reputable supplier of MP4 players. While determining reputation is difficult, you should look for customer feedback, check out their website and definitely give them a call. A very well known source you can find is this chinese wholesaler: http://www.chinavasion.com/

You should be looking at China in particular for the lowest wholesale prices for MP4 and MP3 players. That's where they are all made these days. Professional MP4 player wholesalers located in China will always have an English translator ready to assist you and provide you with more details. Make sure to ask for samples and clarify all import transactions properly before you sign any contract. It is also advisable to consult other retailers and electronic product vendors to see who they partnered with in their business.

Is An IT Degree Right For You?

If you're considering a career in Information Technology, you probably have a lot of questions and are wondering if it will be the best choice for your future. Before such a big commitment is made, extensive research is needed to determine if an IT degree is something you're ready to pursue.

First of all, you should ask yourself what it is about IT that intrigues you and if it's something you can picture yourself doing long term. Have you always had a love for working with computers? Are you interested in the programming perspective and how everything works behind the scenes? Maybe it's the simple fact that you have a unique knack for fixing things when a file or program goes haywire on you.

Whatever the case, you'll be spending a lot of time working with computers in many capacities, so having a solid comfort level with them, or the willingness to gain one, is definitely a must.

Another thing to consider is what type of career you hope to land once you earn your IT degree. You may just have a general interest in the field right now and will create a plan as you delve deeper into your courses and training.

Or maybe you already have a specific type of job in mind like maintaining databases or networks, working on the help desk or doing programming. If that's the case, now is a great time to start looking into any specific training or certifications you'll need to achieve your goals.

And while you are planning your future career, it's also smart to start doing some preliminary research to see what kinds of IT jobs are out there. The market can always change in terms of job volume and demand, but now's the perfect time to see what sort of positions are available, which kinds of companies are looking to fill them and what parts of the country they're located in.

It's also an opportunity for you to find out what kind of experience employers are looking for and if there's much entry level work available. You might want to research the range of wages offered and get a better idea of how IT jobs will pay.

You will need to factor in the type of job skills you'll be required to have once you've received your IT degree and are ready to hit the workforce. Even if you know you're committed to all the coursework and studying that's required during your schooling, are you prepared for everything that will be expected of you on the job?

Consider all of the characteristics you'll need to be successful in an IT career and if they fit your personality. For example, do you have good problem solving skills and can you troubleshoot complicated situations? Are you able to balance a lot of different responsibilities and work well under pressure?

A lot of jobs in IT will require all of these work skills. Another very important requirement will be to have great people skills. Depending on what job your IT degree leads to; it's very likely that your role will involve helping other co-workers and staff. Having the ability to develop good working relations amongst your peers is a major benefit.

Going to school and getting your IT degree can open a lot of doors in your future and bring about all kinds of new opportunities. With some careful consideration and a bit of research, hopefully you'll be able to decide if a career in IT is what you're meant to do.

Current Load Balancing Technology Solutions

In order to run a profitable business in the competitive world today, it is very essential for a business to have instant access to clients, information and potential future liasons. The dependibility on computers has increased to a point that any transaction without the invlovement of the technology is unimaginable.

Computers have opened up new vistas that have made it possible for many small amd medium scale industries and regional applications to go global. The amount of business that can be generated is not comprehendable and the prospects are not countable.

However, with the application of the technology also comes the dedicated services that are a part of the interal complexities of the system and much needed to ensure that the show goes on and that too, uninterrupted.

The technology of load balancing is primarily applied to increase the existent capacity of a dedicated server farm. This application is usually accessible beyond any single server. The technology also enables the user specific access service to remain operational and continue to funtion, despite the limitations such as server down time, failure of the server or a technical snag within the server maintenance.

The solutions:

Load balancing also involves the operations and funtions of the virtual servers. The virtual servers or vservers or VIPs, implement the availability of a specific IP address and a dedicated IP port. The physical services comprise of the content within the physical server IP address and dedicated IP port.

The load balancing solutions include the practical application of many different Internet or dedicated ISP links. These could be both, inbound and outbound. There is a Link Proof solution that provides and ensures consistent Internet access. The package includes bandwidth management and specific intrusion prevention.

The application is available in a single and easy-to-manage box. The other solutions include load balance routers and cable modums or DSL. It is possible for the user to select a router dedicated load balancing solution. There are a number of technical specifications and application drawings that can be accessed on the Internet.

The optimization:

Load balancing solutions for servers optimize the operations that fall within the design and parameters of the server. The solutions ensure the availability of quality application twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. The solutions ensure efficient and timely web traffic distribution. They also take care of prioritization and user specific intrusion prevention that is multi-gigabit in nature.

The load balancing solutions are dedicated towards optimizing precision and quality with every application. The industry strives to ensure that the solutions are targeted at meeting the specific requirements of the end user. The application of the solutions enhance the results desired and make the entire experience worth the money and effort.
